Stream Table Activities

PLAS-LABS' stream tables allow for an enormity of different land formations and earth science studies.  

The wave maker allows you to witness the creating of sand bars along the lake edge.  It will also allos the study of beach erosion, bays, sand bars and the wave simulation approaching jetties and other shoreline formations. 

The rain fall simulator allows you to obtain a more advanced climate in the study.

Stream Table Activity 1: FLAT LAND

1.  Smooth the sand as best as you can. 
2.  Slowly flow water from the hose. 

Questions:
1.  What do you predict will form in the sand?  A straight stream? A meandering stream?  Several streams? 




Stream Table Activity 2:   STRAIGHT STREAM

1.  Create a straight stream the length of the stream table. 
2.  Slowly flow water from the hose.  

Questions:
1.  What will happen to the straight stream over time?
